The Tide Cup Tournament will be held at Jacksons Mill November 15 & 16

If you live more than 60 miles away and you need a room please let us know. ASAP The rooms are for referes only and will be two referees per room.

Assessors - if you can work this tournament please let me know rooms can be provided for those over 60 miles drive.

It's time for you to arrange the return of the Traveling Trophies to WVSA. Be certain that you have engrave3d the panel with your team and that the trophy has been cleaned and is ready for presentation. Trophies are to be in the hands of WVSA by November 1, 2003. Contact the State Office if you have questions or to arrange shipment.

U-10 Mixed Junior, U-10 Mixed Senior, U-10 Girls, U-12 Mixed Junior, U-12 Mixed Senior, U-12 Girls only, U-14 Mixed, and U-14 Girls only. Key changes follow:
· Regional brackets for league/association champions will be played on November 1 and 2.
· Teams advancing from the brackets will meet for finals, November 15 and 16.
· For 2003, each association or league may send up to 2 teams per bracket, both the league/association champions and the runners-up. In U-10 Mixed and U-12 Mixed, the teams will be placed in different divisions (Junior/Senior). For all other brackets, teams will be seperated for Preliminary Rounds.
· See application and guidelines for information on Junior and Senior bracketing.
· All rosters sizes must be within the guidelines for WVSA teams, 2003-2004.
· Fees will be $150/team.

U-8 Mixed, U-8 Girls. New Format to be tested in 2003.
· Festival type play will be available at select Regional Sites (based on Interest and Community Commitment).
· Regional Sites may be located as follows:
· Eastern Panhandle
· Northern Panhandle
· Wood County (Committed as of 8/1/2003)
· Putnam/Kanawha County
· Raleigh/Mercer County(Committed as of 9/18/2003)
· Harrison/Marion County
· Others????
· Regional Sites are encouraged to apply EARLY. Summer of 2003 is possible as preparations for the new format may take additional time and effort.
· All WVSA Registered (per the new WVSA registration rules) Teams are eligible to participate.
· Format will be as follows
· All entered teams will play 2 games
· Entered teams will play teams who they would not normally play in their regular season.
· All games will be played on Saturday, November 1.
· To the extent possible, games will be scheduled close together in an effort to minimize commitment of time.
· Fees will be set at $40/team.
· Local Rosters and Medical Releases will be required. Pass Cards will NOT be required for this event.
· All rosters sizes must be within the guidelines for WVSA teams, 2003-2004
· Participation awards will be given to all participants.
· No scores will be kept. Friendly competition is encouraged.
· Due to limited space at Regional Sites, teams will be admitted on a first come first served basis. Waiting lists will be generated. revised 9-10-2003

2003 Tide WVSA American Cup Reminders

The Tide American Cup is limited to recerational club or league champions only. Teams must be recerational teams with 50% of the players rostered on the team residing in the boundaries of the club or league. Secondary players are governed by the sliding scale.Teams must play a 6 game schedule.

A state stamped roster (no fee) is required and players and coaches must have valid pass cards. Check the Admin.Manual for complete rules. Call the state office for clarification and assistance.
