All of these services are offered to affiliated members with no additional fees. Sponsorships enable WVSA to expand services to the membership. Suggestions for new or expanded programs and services are always welcome.


State Office

The WVSA office is located at 306 1/2 on the cornner of Neville St., Beckley. The office is staffed with three full time and three part time employee's. Our office regular hours are Monday - Friday from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Evening hours will be added during the playing season and State Cup Competitions.

Dave Laraba is the Executive Director and he will address your questions, problems and requests. All services will be routed through the State Office. Our toll free number is 1-800-894-9872.

President Len Rogers at 1-304-525-9118. The new office phone does allow you to leave messages for any department. The newest addition to the state office is FAX on Demand (its menu changes almost daily). This service allows members to call in and have forms and information faxed to them. The office phone system has several new features including a voice information line that will give updates on WVSA programs.

Administrative Support
Questions on rules, by-laws and policies can be answered by WVSA. Not sure what you can and cannot do? WVSA can help with organizing local administration, officer training and developement. Don't re-invent the wheel! Use the resources of those who have faced the same problems. We have 501C3 status with the IRS and this can be helpful to your program. Sponsors can use this to donate tax-free to your club or league.

Recreational Programs

Resources abound in the office for the development of your recreational program. Coaching kits for novice (and experienced) coaches are made available at bargain prices. Modified rules for small-sided games and outlines for starting your program are free of charge. We will travel to your location and bring these resources to your organization. WVSA can supply you with the literature, videos and support your recreational program needs.

Insurance

Certificates of liability for clubs and leagues, as well as any property that is used for practice or games are available upon request. Descriptions of liability and medical coverage can be made available. Risk management programs and guidelines for clubs and coaches are also available.

Resource Library

Tapes, books and other materials are available for loan or purchase. The library is updated regularly and has the latest in coaching books for the recreational and the competitive coach. Referee material is also available. We even have tapes of World Cup games and highlights. Call the State Office to order these materials. We do require a deposit for the materials on loan. Pamphlets on WVSA and US Youth Soccer programs are available at little or no cost except for postage.

State Cup Competitions

WVSA holds three state wide tournaments each seasonal year. The Fall TIDE America Cup is part of US Youth Soccer's TIDE American Cup. Information packets for this tournament are available by September 1. This tournament is for recreational club/league champions in the U12, U14 & U16 age brackets for girls & boys. The Spring Open Tournament known as the Chevrolet Cup and the Snickers Cup are held in the Spring for all-star recreational teams, club teams and travel teams. Travel & Tournaments

Information on how to run a tournament for your club / league is available. Your tournament must be a sanctioned event for teams from other clubs / leagues to participate and for your insurance to be in effect. Manuals and other resources are here to help you. Teams traveling to out-of-state tournaments must have a completed "Permission to Travel: form on file with the State Office, the coach, the tournament director and the other National State Association. Contact us for these permits and the travel procedures. Indoor tournament help and "Friendly Game" information is also available.

Referees

The referee program is administrated by WVSA for US Soccer. Support for local referee development is available by contacting the SRA or the state office. Entry level, recert and advanced referee clinics are available. WVSA also provides training for instructors, assessors and assignors. Manuals

WVSA has developed several manuals to assist local clubs. The WVSA Administrative Manual contains the Constitution and bylaws and program information. The Presidents survival kit will help club and league officers find their way around the services and programs of USYS and WVSA. The Recreational Manual was put together by Region 1 to help guide local recreation clubs. The Coaches and Registration Manuals will help explain those programs.

Olympic Development (Boys and Girls)

Players who are more advanced in their playing skills and desiring personal advancement in their playing ability are given that opportunity through O.D.P. Try-outs are held in the late Fall or early Spring. There are fees for participating in this program and some scholarship money is sometimes available.
